Shillong sits on a plateau above Guwahati. From there the roads run south to Sohra and Mawsynram, and south-east to Mawlynnong and Dawki.

Getting there
Guwahati airport and station are the usual arrivals; Shillong is about three hours away by road.

No Inner Line Permit is needed for Meghalaya. The state has announced plans for a tourist registration system; we confirm the current position when you book. All permit rules
